So, are you ready to share your story?
📖 Book proposal template from the exact submission that got my book published!
Hi friends,
I have an exciting free gift for you today. But first, I want to tell you a story.
When I first met Marie-Pier, she was like many women; curious about her body but lacking the tools to truly understand and harness the power of her menstrual cycle. She had stumbled upon my episode on Jenna Kutcher's Goal Digger podcast back in 20191, and little did either of us know that this would be the beginning of an incredible journey.
Marie-Pier has described that episode as life-changing. It was as if a light had been switched on, illuminating a path she didn't even know existed. She was eager to learn more, to dive deeper into this newfound knowledge, and in 2020 she made the courageous decision to enrol in my Cycle Coach facilitator training.
It wasn't just about learning for herself anymore; Marie-Pier wanted to share this empowering information with others. Throughout that year, I watched as she absorbed the material, asked insightful questions, and began to formulate her own unique perspective on cycle awareness.
Now, just a few short years later, I'm bursting with pride to announce that Marie-Pier has published her very first book on menstrual cycle awareness, Flots Intérieurs. (Inner Flow for the non-French speakers!) (Find it here!)
From podcast listener to student to published author, Marie-Pier's story inspires me so much. Honestly, I was in tears last week as I watched her book ‘unboxing’. I love books. And I want to see more great books in the world. And so, over the last few days I’ve been developing something for anyone else who shares this dream of becoming an author.
Here's your gift: I've created a book proposal template based on the exact proposal that led to my published book, 50 Things You Need To Know About Periods, as a free gift for YOU.
Inside this book proposal template, you'll find:
A structure based on the proposal that got my book into print
Direct examples straight from my proposal to guide your process
My hot tips and insights into what agents and publishers are looking for
This template will help you organise your ideas, craft a compelling pitch, and navigate the world of book publishing. It’s best for non-fiction books.
(You’ll notice in the proposal I call my book Adore Your Cycle and that the chapter breakdowns are very different to the final book. Well, from proposal to finished book is quite the journey, let me say that much!)
Exclusive Q&A Class for Paid Subscribers
Now, it’s possible you’re going to have a lot of questions as you work through this proposal and feel into finding an agent and publisher. I'm going to put together an exclusive audio class to answer your questions about the writing process, proposal creation and / or publishing. This is a great chance to dive deeper and get personalised advice.
The comments section is open for paid subscribers only, so if that’s you, leave any questions you have (nothing is too big or too small or too inappropriate for that matter—honestly, whatever it is, ask away!) before Friday 18th October. Paid subscribers will receive the audio class in response to these questions one week later.
If you’re not a paid subscriber (it’s $7 a month), but you’d like to take me up on this offer, hit the pink button below.
Whether you dream of writing a book or not, remember: your story matters. Your knowledge is valuable. And who knows? The next success story I share might be yours!
Big love!
Ps. Here’s that link again for the book proposal template. If you’d like to share it with someone you know, please forward them this email!
Here’s that Goal Digger podcast episode I was on. It’s such a good one—over 5 years later I still hear from people how life changing this conversation was for them.
Wow what an INCREDIBLE resource! So generous of you to share this Claire 💗
Claire! Thanks for your generosity in sharing this. It helps me soo much right now. My book pitch is almost ready to go and yours gave me the needed last tweaks and inspo.
My questions for youuuuu 😍:
_did you sent out like it looks now in the template (plain text) or did you add something more designed already? I'm thinking about this and heard different things. One agent said they just want plain text, another one was not clear but said something like it's always good to stand out.
_how long did it take from book deal till publishing?
_how much of your book was written already when you handed in the pitch?
_did you hand it in to agents only or also publishing houses? How many people did you sent it too?
_can you share how much money you got from the book deal? I've heard so many different numbers already form 2.000€ up to 40.000€ (in my network) and then off course bestselling authors getting 6figure deals
_any agents/publishing houses immediately crossing your mind for a book about mental health+ menstrual cycle in the English speaking world? (Pitching it for German speaking region at the moment but also wanna go Englisch market)
_what was your writing routine like? How many months did you spent on writing? Any wisdom you'd tell your past self that was on the verge of writing her book?
Sending love to you 💜
