Let's try something new ✨
For anyone a bit bummed by social media — welcome to The Periodical
Hi friends,
It’s exactly 4 months today since I last wrote to you and shared how rough last year was. It’s no exaggeration to say that I completely rearranged the furniture of my life in 2023.
It’s only now, towards the end of April (smack-bang in the beating heart of English springtime), that I’m finally feeling more clear, more resilient and more like myself again.
Q1 2024 = resting, recharging and processing.
But gosh I have missed writing to you so so much!
The list of ‘ideas for things to write about’ in my Notes App is starting to haunt me in my sleep (seriously), so here we are. A new era.
And with this new era, a whole new way of connecting.
For the last 11+ years my beloved newsletters have existed as email only.
What’s great about this is the intimacy; it’s a more personal way to connect than the bright lights and transitory nature of social media.
But what sucks is that while there are over 8000 of us here in this newsletter community, there’s no way for YOU to connect with EACH OTHER!
And I know you’ll really get along
This is one of the reasons I’m shifting my newsletter to Substack. If you haven’t heard of Substack, it’s essentially a blogging platform with the option for writers to also create paid content.
This newsletter, the one you’re reading right now, will ALWAYS be free.
Every month, you’ll continue to receive my updates, insights, things I’m loving, and so on. But you’ll also be able to COMMENT on the newsletter and connect with others in this community, which is now called The Periodical.
There is also a paid option (£7 a month), which includes my new Cycle Journaling Circle live group calls (we have our first call on Tuesday 7th May), access to members-only juicy posts, regular cycle check-ins, the full archive and audio versions of articles.
If you really want to get behind my work, you can become a Founding Member which also grants you access to one of my online courses and my book ‘50 Things You Need To Know About Periods’ posted to you in the mail.
But there’s no rush or requirement to do any of that.
You can stay just as you are, receiving my free words each month, and that’s absolutely wonderful.
You can upgrade (or downgrade) anytime you like.
It’s a bit of an experiment and one that I really hope and believe will pay off.
So many of us are feeling frustrated and uninspired by social media but our desire to connect, share and create is just as strong as ever.
Check out the options to join the community here…
A few more fun things:
Calling all neurodivergent pals! I’m taking two professional trainings at the moment. One is on coaching neurodivergent clients (folks with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, etc.) and the other is about supporting people in chapters of change and transformation. Both are hitting close to home and I’m so excited to share more with you soon.
Is the cycle tracking trend all it’s cracked up to be? Cosmo thinks so! 😉 In this month’s Cosmopolitan magazine, Harriet Hall shares what it was like working with me as her menstrual cycle coach last year as she learned to track her cycle and explore the wonders of body literacy 🙏
Att: cycle and astrology geeks! 🤓 One of our 2024 Cycle Coach trainees helped piece together a correlation between the signs of the Zodiac, the seasons and the menstrual cycle for us. What do you think?
I’ve been watching this TV show (mostly because it’s set in Oxford and I’ve recently moved there… more about that soon) and although it’s pretty cringe I’m enjoying it.
The latest playlist I’ve whipped up is this 90’s dance curation of absolute bangers.
And currently reading this by the GOAT, Ann Patchett.
PLEASE do say hello in the comments!

Hey darling Claire and community ❤️I’m writing from cold little Tasmania. Drinking a hot cup of matcha as I read. I do love a Claire email! Stoked for you starting a subby 🎉
Hello lovelies :) Writing from Lévis, Canada with my cat Skye on my lap. Claire has been my mentor since 2019 and I'm also a Cycle School graduate <3
I'm loving the music of Fog Chaser at the moment.
