Hi friends,
Happy new moon! 🌚
Yessss that non-blonde person in the pic above is me.
Last year I had my “colours” done by a stylist in the U.K. and it turns out I’m a “soft autumn” (IYKYK). This coppery brown shade was her suggestion for me.
It took me nearly a year to make the change, but gosh it felt powerful to finally claim this colour for myself, and sitting in that salon chair was a surprisingly cathartic, emotional experience. After two years of Big Life Changes, this felt like a symbolic way to honour all of the growth and transformation. (Also… I think it brings out the hazel in my eyes!) So let’s see — maybe I’m not blonde anymore?!
Anyway. I’m not writing today to tell you about my hair (though don’t tempt me, because we could go there), but to share the replay with you from last week’s Solstice call.
Thank you to everyone who joined live — as always, it was a beautiful gathering and I personally took a great deal from this time of reflection, visioning and sharing together 🥰
If you couldn’t make it live (or want to revisit the magic), the recording is ready for you.
You’ll need:
90-minutes for yourself
A journal and pen
The workbook (printed or digital)
Something delicious to drink and/or snack on
Consider lighting a candle, pulling a card, or another gesture to ritualise the space for yourself
A few more fun things:
📺 Watching: I binged The Good Place in its entirety with total glee while recovering from surgery this month. It’s now in my top 5 favourite shows of all time. EXTRAORDINARY.
📚 Reading: I’m back on the non-fic with a re-read of Spirit Babies and also Wear It Well, which is a super cute book helping me sort out my wardrobe. (See: getting colours done and wanting to revamp everything!)
🎧 Listening: We just wrapped up season two of The Cycle Coach Show with an episode on how to work with archetypes in your coaching practice. Also, there’s a new Emerald podcast out and GOSH we need storytelling like this right now.
🍲 Cooking: I’m about to bleed, so I’ve been going for it on the food prep. My fridge is stocked with baked sweet potato, chopped herbs, shredded chicken, egg and salmon cups, quinoa, sliced red cabbage, pomegranate seeds, goats cheese, broth and chocolate… it’s giving serious luteal nesting. Want a post on my food prep process? This is something I’ve really had to work on, and as a recovering Lunch Skipper, I’m ace-ing it right now, so let me know.
Finally, just a little reminder that you’re STILL HERE! You’re still alive.
Don’t forget how magical that is, how precious these moments are.
Enjoy the replay from last week’s call — take that 90-minutes for yourself, yeah?
Big love!
Ps. Okay, fine, a few more hair pics! 😉

First of all, it is so lovely to have you back here! Hope the operation went well and you are feeling like your wonderful self again (or getting closer). 🩷 Your new hair colour looks absolutely beautiful, darling woman. And, you've inspired me...
I'm soooo hanging for a change but holding off for a few reasons: one being that I don't want to make any kind of stress-related change to my hair - again. The last time I did, I lopped 3 inches off my length and cut in curtain bangs which did NOT suit me, and I have only just grown out a year later! 😅
Yes please, I would absolutely love if you could share your meal prep process with us. I want to take better care of myself nutritionally, but I seem to have missed the gene that has any kind of inclination towards the kitchen! 🤣 I want to be better at nourishing myself with food and start to enjoy the art of cooking for myself (and my husband, Chris).
PS: I looooooove The Good Place! We have watched it twice so far, and it's one of a handful of series I know I will rewatch at least once a year. So many powerful messages in it, so well-written, so funny, and so heart-wrenchingly beautiful. I've put many friends onto it!
PPS: If you want another show of that calibre, I would highly recommend Ted Lasso. It is my ultimate comfort show because its core themes are joy and kindness, and it lifts my spirits during particularly tough times. x
This color is SO good! P.S. have you ever read or heard of the book “Pussy: A Reclamation” By Regena Thomashauer?
