Hi friends,
At 11pm on Thursday night, we threw a doona, pillows, and snacks in the car, and headed west towards Stonehenge. It was a short journey, just over an hour, and I started bleeding as soon as we arrived.
Cycle day one at Stonehenge for Summer Solstice! How spectacular! What a moment!
As you might know, my word for 2024 is ALIVE, and it really did feel as if Life was winking at me, like, “heyyy girl, I got you!”
I am so proud of myself for trusting Life, for facing the truth, and for diving into the unknown this past year. I am so proud of myself for making the tough decisions that have led to the peace, laughter, health, love, and excitement for life I feel in this moment.
What a huge relief to feel ALIVE again ✨
When you're stuck, it can feel hard to take the action you need to, because, although it feels bad now, it might feel worse for awhile. It will get better, but not necessarily right away. It's very reasonable to expect some resistance when faced with the reality of a tough time getting tougher, with no guarantee it will improve. This is where faith comes in, and the fact that you must act anyway.
Stagnancy on stagnancy is a rubbish time, no matter how afraid you are to rock the boat.
This isn't working (whatever your 'this' is), and you need to try something else. Reorganising one's life is rarely pretty. But it is natural, normal, and possible. Life is out here, trying to seduce you and waiting to play!
What move are you going to make this Solstice?
A few more fun things:
I’ve made a mid-year Solstice check-in workbook for you, to help you figure out what comes next on your life’s path. Download it free here.
Catch the replay of last week’s Big Solstice Energy journaling call here. People are calling it ‘powerful’, ‘deep’, ‘timely’ and ‘a reminder of what is most important in life.’
I’m currently reading Africa Brooke’s first book, The Third Perspective, and the first few chapters have wowed me, in the best way.
I’ve been listening to this interesting take on HRT in perimenopause, to this awesome conversation on the evidence-based research of sustaining long-term love, and this episode on having a baby in one’s mid-thirties.
I also remembered this choreography masterpiece from a few years ago; a mesmerising celebration of female diversity and juiciness!
Finally, I wrote a piece on leaving London last week. You can read (or listen, I recorded the audio!) here. There’s a paywall on this one (it’s pretty raw) but you can easily access a free trial if you’d really love to read it. Honestly, I wrote this one for myself but it’s also for anyone who has loved London, or loathed London, or loved and left a place.
Remember, the next six months don’t have to look anything like the first six. Or they can, if you’d like them to.
I’m going offline now as I assist on a week-long training in sunny Turkey. I’ll be back sometime next month.
Sending so much love,
Ps. 3 things I know to be true:
So much can change in a year
Courage comes through doing the scary thing
Anything is possible
I’d love to hear from you in the comments! x
Ohhh! I’ve always wanted to do Stonehenge solstice. You look in your power! I celebrated solstice at the Mount at wasing, was so very special (and I was bleeding too!) 🩸 see you in July! 😊 Aimee x
