Bring all parts with you
A new moon spread and journaling for September 🔮
Well loves, it’s a Friday afternoon before the Virgo New Moon, with September just peeking out from around the corner now, so you know what that means?
I reckon it’s time for some tarot-inspired journaling and a lovely little spread! Brought to you by my new favourite deck, The Cosmic Slumber Tarot. (Not an ad or sponsorship lol — I just love this deck. It’s truly magic.)
But first, a little about this moment in the year.
We’re a month away from the equinox now, drawing closer and closer to autumn or spring (depending on which hemisphere you’re in), and to more balance in the light and dark of the day. If August was a holiday month for you, your brain might already be switching on to “back to school” tasks and organisation — or perhaps you’re still luxuriating in the last stretch of time off.
I just got off a training call with our US-based Cycle Coach crew for 2025, and there were certainly some patterns in the air: tiredness and gratitude as summer draws to a close, frustration coming up around family commitments or time spent out of routine and away from the family home. A sense that summer is ending, and (like at the transition of every season) a hint of grief or “what have I not done yet?!”
That last one is especially pertinent to the summer-to-autumn transition. I see it show up in the seasonal shift, but also in women’s menstrual and life cycles, too.
What do I still need to do or enjoy?
What do I want to prioritise and make time for?
And of course, for our Southern Hemisphere beauties, there’s a looking forward now as well, with the promise of spring becoming more pronounced each day. Soon, soon, it will be here! Are you ready to leave the cosy cave of winter? Or do you need more rest and a little quiet planning before the energy of the new season kicks off?
These are the questions I’m pondering myself, and bringing to you in a few journaling prompts and a spread idea today. I’ve pulled a card to inspire each prompt. This is how I love to use the Tarot — less predictive, more as a mirror to draw out my own inner wisdom and insight.
You can use the comments below to answer them if you like, scribble them down in your journal, or just chat your insights out with a friend. Enjoy!
